Story
Our aim is to provide bursary funding for people from low-income households, families, individuals, couples, parents, children, and young people suffering from mental health issues, so they are able to attend counselling sessions People are not prioritising counselling over their household outgoings due to the recent price hikes in food utilities, and petrol. Post-Covid, our community is still struggling to get back to normal, they are still suffering with their mental health living with fear, loneliness, anxiety and depression. We would like to subsidies their counselling sessions, depending on their household financial circumstances.
Relate survey found that 79% of our counsellors reported a rise in adults concerned about arguments, disagreements, and managing responsibilities at home (60%) found parenting concerns were on the rise, along with communication (62%). 89% of counsellors reported client's existing mental health issues appeared to have been exacerbated by the pandemic and 68% of counsellors said clients presented with new mental health issues, which probably emerged as a result of the pandemic. Overall,88% of practitioners reported an increase in adults seeking support for anxiety,79% for depression and 78% for loneliness & isolation. We've learnt from the survey that families need our help, as do individuals, parents, children and teens.
We include people from whatever background, race or religion from the LGBTQ+, BAME, Ethnic background or disabilities to improve their lives, support them, and make better choices, especially at critical moments in their lives.
