Richmond AID is a charity run by and for disabled people. We support people with all disablities including physical and sensory impairments, mental health issues and learning difficulties. We support disabled people to live independently and to have the same opportunities as non-disabled people.

Story

WE DID IT! We started at 8.30am. It started to rain - pretty heavily ...But it didnt dampen our spirits! On we went with our steely determination and wet socks. Luckily around 1pm it did brighten and we dried out. We dont seem to be able to pass this pub in Barnes without the boys having a pint! So proud of everyone for completing this a huge challenge. We finished at 5pm - great time - 8 hours of walking with a few short pit stops! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SPONSORING US!!!

Richmond AID along with other local charities will be walking a marathon to raise funds to support services for local residents in crisis. We will our walking boots and take on the 26.2-mile challenge on Saturday, 16 October.

Starting at 8.30am in front of the iconic London Eye, the hike will follow the Thames past landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, Battersea Power Station and Kew Gardens. The marathons final miles will take participants through the Borough of Richmond itself, before finishing early evening at the historic Hampton Court Palace.

All funds raised will go directly into the charity's services helping residents facing financial difficulty, mental health crisis, food poverty and disability. Here is our dream team from last year - Lucy, Gareth, Ute, George, Sharon and Anji. This year, 2021's fabulous walkers will be Rose, Rob, George, Lucy, Anji and Amber. Cheer us on, sponsor us or join us!!
