Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice Director, Elise Hoadley is thrilled to be welcoming back cyclists for the 33rd year of the event. Numbers have soared in recent years thanks to the stunning Cotswold routes, professional organisation supported by British Cycling and the electric atmosphere.

Elise said: "I can't put into words how wonderful it is to be sharing the news that entries for our Ride for Ryder sportive are now open. This will be our first fundraising event back following the outbreak of the pandemic and our fundraising team have been working tirelessly to make sure it can go ahead with stringent Covid-secure measures in place to keep our riders and our local community safe.

Ride for Ryder means a lot to us - over the past five years people have cycled 130,000km raising an astonishing £130,000 so we can continue to be there when it matters. Following the devastating impact of the pandemic on our fundraising over the past year, 2021's event has more riding on it than ever before."

Thanks to event sponsorship from long term charity partner, Allstone Speedy Skips, all funds raised by participants this year will be driven into funding the expert and compassionate palliative care and bereavement support given by Sue Ryder.

CEO of Allstone Speedy Skips, Simon Ford, is delighted that his company is sponsoring this years cycling event, after the local hospice has suffered a year of cancelled fundraising activities and charity shop closures.

Simon said; "Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice is there when it matters, for so many families, in our local community, and now it is our turn to be there for them.

Allstone Speedy Skips are thrilled to be sponsors of the hospices post Covid come-back event, and we're looking forward to seeing lots of participants and local businesses turning the wheels in support of our much loved local hospice. We're entering an Allstone Speedy Skips team and we can't wait to roll up at the start line on the 8th August."
