The Lowdown is a local charity in Northamptonshire that provides free, safe, non-judgemental, and confidential mental health and support services for 8 to 25-year-olds regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion, ability, sexuality, economic condition or perceived disadvantage.

It is our vision that young person will never experience mental health issues alone and our mission is to support every young person with the right help at the right time, empowering them to thrive.

Demand for our services continues to grow. During 2025/26, we delivered a record 13,464 counselling sessions across all age groups, while overall contacts across the organisation increased by 16% to 22,454. The number of young people needing support with their mental health is growing and we need your help more than ever before.
