A group of dedicated runners are fundraising for Learn to Love to Read by running the Royal Parks Half Marathon, which will take place amid London's most famous landmarks 12th October 2025.
Since its foundation over ten years ago Learn to Love to Read has positively impacted the lives of thousands of children across the borough of Wandsworth. Learn to Love to Read is a small, local charity that supports children aged 0 to 11 years who are at risk of starting school poorly prepared for learning to read or who are already finding learning to read challenging. We also empower parents to offer ongoing support at home.
The relatively simple act of supporting literacy development changes lives by providing access to knowledge, fostering personal growth, and enabling individuals to participate fully in society.

Our volunteers, staff, parents and partner schools see the transformation in children each year and the positive impact this has on the children’s education and enjoyment of their lives both in and out of school. A class teacher in a partner school in 2024 said:
“S has benefitted hugely from L2L2R’s [support]. She found it challenging to express her ideas and contribute to discussions. Now she is more confident and eager to share her thoughts.”
