Story
Spanning over 8 million square kilometres, the Sahara Desert covers as many as eleven countries in northern Africa. Despite it being one of the harshest environments on Earth, the Sahara is home to a variety of wildlife that has adapted to a life of extremes, including camels, goats, cheetah, gazelles, ostriches and more. During the summer months temperatures in the Sahara average a sizzling 38 46°C, thankfully our trek takes place in March 2022 making the most of the cooler weather!
Our LOROS Hospice trekking team will spend four tough days, crossing difficult desert terrain and climbing to the top of the enormous Chigaga Dunes. Please dig deep and support our fundraising efforts to help care for terminally patients and their families in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
