"I don't have to pretend I'm fine when I am not. SAMM means the world to me. It has been my lifeline of people who are waking up each day to realise their loved one has gone, as I do. SAMM saves lives."
SAMM’s mission is grounded in empathy and a deep commitment to helping those who have experienced the traumatic loss of a loved one to homicide. We provide crucial support to traumatically bereaved families and individuals across the UK through peer-to-peer assistance, emotional support, and advocacy services.
Every year, we are called upon to support more families, offering them a safe space to share their grief. The journey to healing is long and complex, requiring ongoing support. SAMM’s services are free of charge, but each service comes with significant costs, particularly for emotional support and retreats.
We have launched our Hand in Hand appeal to raise £50,000 to ensure we can continue providing life-changing care, helping families to navigate one of the most challenging journeys imaginable.
Fundraising for SAMM is about more than just raising money—it’s about building a community that understands the importance of supporting those who have suffered violent loss.
It’s about ensuring that we can continue to offer life-changing services to those who need them most.
