Save Our Snowsport School
COVID-19 is hitting us all hard and Disability Snowsport UK is no different. The closure of leisure centres means that we are unable to deliver snowsport lessons and the situation has led to the cancellation of numerous fundraising events and activities. So far DSUK is set to lose at least £70,000 income as a result of COVID-19. We are already a lean charity and simply put, we cannot afford this.
We appreciate that not everybody is able to help us but if you are, now is the time.
Now more than ever disabled people need your support.
Many disabled people are under instruction to self-isolate. Even before this crisis, disabled people were more likely to experience:
- Poor physical and mental health.
- Loneliness.
- Poor self-worth.
- Limited access to sport, especially snowsport.
Social distancing, self-isolation, and the long-term economic impact of COVID-19 only stand to make this worse.
DSUK are continuing to engage with our members to reduce their isolation during this crisis, and the staff team who remain at work at this time are planning for our strong return and recovery.
The benefits of snowsport vary widely for all of our members, but one common theme runs through all of our skiers and snowboarders comments: freedom. Please help us to continue to enable disabled people to experience the freedom that only snowsport can bring.
Were proud of our forty-year history, and with your help we can make sure that our snowsport school can continue to deliver the unique physical, mental, and social, benefits of snowsport to everybody.
Thank you
