Sindh Doctors Association has been serving the communities in Sindh since 1979. The basic aim is to improve the basic infrastructure in the health and education sectors. Access to health care is fundamental to our quality of life. It is essential in the daily struggle for survival for the poorest. Yet there are millions that live without basic services in health care and education. The ultimate goal is to provide quality basic education and skilled medical teams to improve these facilities for all the people to the highest level possible regardless of race, religion or gender.

Story

The Sindh Doctors Association UK (SDAUK) has launched an initiative to adopt and revitalise non-functional schools across Sindh, Pakistan. Our initial goal is to adopt 30 schools in the province, and we are proud to share that 22 previously non-functional schools have already been restored and made fully operational.

Each school requires a minimum of Rs 40,000 per month (approximately £110 / $145) or £1,280 / $1,710 annually to sustain its operations. These funds are essential for improving basic infrastructure—such as building additional classrooms, repairing washrooms, renovating existing facilities, providing furniture, stationery, and establishing computer labs.

To ensure reliable electricity, each school also needs a solar power system, costing Rs 200,000 (approximately £550 / $715).

Our mission is to raise the quality of education and reduce the number of out-of-school children. With your support, SDAUK has successfully refurbished 22 of the 30 targeted schools, but much more remains to be done. Your generosity will help us adopt additional schools and bring countless children—many of the 1,000,000 out-of-school children in Sindh—back into the classroom, protecting them from vulnerability, exploitation, and lost opportunities.

We invite you to view photos of the first school adopted by SDAUK and to contribute to this life-changing project.
