The Sindh Doctors Association UK (SDAUK) has launched an initiative to adopt and revitalise non-functional schools across Sindh, Pakistan. Our initial goal is to adopt 30 schools in the province, and we are proud to share that 22 previously non-functional schools have already been restored and made fully operational.
Each school requires a minimum of Rs 40,000 per month (approximately £110 / $145) or £1,280 / $1,710 annually to sustain its operations. These funds are essential for improving basic infrastructure—such as building additional classrooms, repairing washrooms, renovating existing facilities, providing furniture, stationery, and establishing computer labs.
To ensure reliable electricity, each school also needs a solar power system, costing Rs 200,000 (approximately £1,000 / $1,250).
