Story

We want to provide 1000 sessions of free Sex Therapy to couples and individuals on low incomes (under £25,000 per year) to improve their sexual wellness.

Sex Therapy is a highly stigmatised form of therapeutic intervention. It is one of the forms of therapy that has the highest barriers to engagement, cost being the main one with people paying around £100 per session, but is arguably one of the most important.

Data from the Natsal-3 study, revealed that 42% of men and 52% of women reported having at least one sexual problem which lasted three months or more. 75% of people who come to us for relationship support say that the physical aspect of their relationship has suffered. Despite the clear need, Sex Therapy is rarely offered for free or on the NHS.

Right now, it is more important than ever for people to have circle of healthy relationships around them, and supporting sex lives is an essential part of this. - Polly, TLC Sex Therapist

Sex Therapy will provide a safe and confidential space for clients to explore the issues most pertinent to them. We offer support to people experiencing problems with erections, penetration, ejaculation, orgasms, painful sex, sex drives, life changes including menopause and childbirth, physical health such as a Cancer diagnosis or Vaginismus.

Overall, this project will:

Improve the emotional and mental health of clients

Equip people with the skills needed to work through issues they have identified

Increase levels of positive, open communication within relationships

Help people feel more positive about the future

Reduce feelings of isolation or loneliness

The sessions will be available online to anyone and everyone, regardless of location, age, gender, race, or sexuality.
