Firstly, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to the incredible team at SGS for their unwavering support of Thriving Survivors and for choosing us as your charity of the year for today's event.

With a waiting list of 500 people and an 18-month wait for services, your recognition and generosity today will make a tangible difference in allowing us to reach people in a more timely manner. The services we provide save lives, from our mentoring and counselling services to our post-traumatic growth programmes. Our unique pathway supports people from a point of crisis to the point of empowerment and growth.

Background

Our journey as an organisation, is deeply intertwined with personal experiences and a profound commitment to supporting trauma survivors to reclaim power, choice, and control of their lives. Thriving Survivors was founded almost a decade ago with a vision of an organisation that would provide an end-to-end service for survivors. A service that would be entirely designed, developed, and delivered by people with lived experience.

Today, that vision is a reality. Thriving Survivors offers a four-stage recovery pathway that provides a framework for people who have experienced trauma to heal and recover from their experiences. An opportunity to break the cycle of trauma and be able to control the impact on their daily life.

Growth and Impact

Starting as a small initiative, we raised funds for our first ever Discovering Me programme through various activities. We now have an amazing staff team of 12 and a team of dedicated volunteers who make the vision a reality every day. They share their own wisdom and experiences to support over 150 people every week and nearly 3000 people since we incorporated 9 years ago.
