Taking the leap — for something bigger than ourselves
Jumping out of a plane at 15,000ft might sound like an adrenaline rush — and it is — but for those of us skydiving for Rotherham Hospice, it’s about so much more than ticking something off the bucket list.
It’s about honouring the lives of those we’ve loved and lost. It’s about showing up for people in our community who are facing some of life’s most difficult moments. It’s about making sure that no one is left to face death or dying without the care, compassion and dignity they deserve.
Rotherham Hospice is a local charity that provides personalised, holistic end of life care — at home, in the hospice, and out in the community — supporting around 1,700 people and their loved ones each year. But this care isn’t guaranteed.
As an independent charity, the hospice must raise over £5 million every year just to keep providing these vital services. That’s why we’re taking to the skies — to help make sure the hospice can continue to be there for every family who needs it.
By sponsoring this skydive, you’re helping fund more than just a service — you’re helping add more life to every day for people in Rotherham. You’re helping ensure that care remains personal, dignified, and tailored to individual wishes, no matter where or how someone chooses to spend their final days.
Your donation really does make a difference. So thank you — from all of us taking the leap, and from everyone at Rotherham Hospice.
