Visit the charity's profileSandy Bear Children’s Bereavement Charity’s purpose is to relieve the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical distress of children and young people suffering, or anticipating, a bereavement.
We provide a route to a healthy grieving process leading to the normalisation of grief, to avoid detrimental outcomes and allow for a happier, more fulfilled life. Bereavement impacts on every aspect of a young life. We enable children to know that they have a right to mourn, regardless of their age and understanding. Everyone reacts differently to bereavement. This is influenced by a number of factors, including who died, their relationship to the deceased, the nature of the death, the communication with the child, the environment, their cognitive abilities and their in-built resilience. If the right support is not provided, and grief is left unresolved, the child’s health can be compromised which can cause poorer mental health and educational outcomes, and risky behaviours.
We work closely with children, young people and their families, providing therapeutic, one-to-one and peer support to help them through their grief and provide them with the resilience skills they need throughout their grief journey.
To take part in a charity skydive, you are required to pay £234 which is the cost of the skydive. You are to pay this from your sponsorship money.
A £50 deposit is required upon booking your place (see information below). The deposit is to be paid for by yourself/the jumper.
£184 is then required to be paid on the day by the charity through your sponsorship. It is a requirement that you raise a minimum of £200 which will go to Sandy Bear Children's Bereavement Charity on top of the £234 cost of the skydive.
The full cost of the day is £434 (£234 to carry out the skydive and £200 sponsorship/donation). This cost will be monitored by Hannah Beer, the Marketing, Events and Volunteer Manager. If you do not raise this amount of money, the skydive will not take place.
£384 is the minimum amount which needs to be raised on this platform (this is the full cost of the day minus the deposit which you are expected to pay at the time of book). The payment for your jump includes the instructor payment & third party insurance.
If you raise more money, Sandy Bear will receive a bigger donation!
If you would like to sign up to skydive for Sandy Bear Children's Bereavement Charity, please email hannah@sandybear.co.uk who is able to provide you with the contact to pay your £50 deposit.

This decision is not made until 5pm the day before the jump is due to take place. On very rare occasions they have sent messages out on the day of the jump if the weather has changed drastically overnight.
