Giving up your bed for 1 night to provide a young person with a safe place to sleep
Streetlife is a small youth work charity Est.1984 that supports vulnerable young people, aged 16-25 who may be experiencing homelessness.
Each year over 100 amazing people swap their own bed for the cobbles of St Johns Square in Blackpool town centre to raise awareness about youth homelessness and vital funds to support Streetlife's service.
Streetlife supports over 300 young people in crisis each year, many of whom do not have a safe place to sleep. The funds raised by the BIG SleepOut help to keep the 8 bed emergency shelter and day centre running, providing a lifeline to those who need it most.
The overriding thing which we all took from the Sleep Out was that of togetherness, we helped each other through, real team building, but also, such a poignant evening, as it makes you realise, we only had to do this for one night, unfortunately, there are many people who would have to face those conditions night after night.
Any donation can make a BIG difference to a young person in need of shelter, food and basic needs. Streetlife isn't just a bed for the night, it is an ongoing relationship of trust that empowers young people to build brighter futures.
