50 SUMMITS & A FUNDRAISING TARGET OF 50K!
In March 2026, Matthew will tackle the Snowdon 50 – climbing Snowdon 50 times in 10 days, a feat never before accomplished. Eight corporate teams will take part on set days, and there will be two family focused days to complete the event. This challenge marks the next chapter in Carter the Brave’s nearly decade long series of fundraising, which has already raised over £590,000.
Carter the Brave’s mission is to make this journey easier for other “Carters.” Our ethos is simple: every penny raised goes straight to Birmingham Children's Hospital, so the event is 100 % self funded by participants, and all donations directly support the children.
Since 2016, Carter the Brave has made a huge impact, including:
- the Handsfree Vocera system
- 3 x IV vein finders
- 1,500 Amazon vouchers
- 7 revolutionary GameStations
- £107,000 for the CTB Fellowship Research Fund, enabling groundbreaking research
- 2 Chemo CADD pumps, allowing children to stay at home longer
- 2 mouth ulcer treatment machines
More recently, Carter the Brave have contributed substantially to the new BCH entrance, the on site cinema, and funded 3 separate research projects. We have also purchased an ultrasound venous machine and the CT Intervention kit, which will simplify tumour diagnoses.
With all this momentum, Matthew and the team are busy getting ready for the epic challenge – will Snowdon be ready for the amazing Team Carter?
Thank you to everyone who has supported and continues to support our quest to help these children.
