Story
On Saturday 16th September 2023, 13 year old Sophia will be cycling 100k on a tandem bike and she's looking for a team of warriors to join her!
When she was 10 years old, Sophia was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma and Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumour, two rare forms of cancer that resulted in the amputation of her leg below the knee to save her life. This inspiring young lady is now choosing to use her experience in a positive way to raise awareness of childhood cancer and much needed funds for Lennox Children's Cancer Fund! Will you join her?
Childhood cancer has had a devastating effect on Sophia and her family, and the last two years have been incredibly hard. Having to go through intensive chemotherapy, amputation, and then learning to walk again is traumatic for an adult, but for a child, most of us could never imagine the pain and despair she felt. Sophia hasnt let the cancer or her disability limit or define her. With her sheer determination and courage, Sophia with the help of a friend taught herself to ride a bike. A knock at the door from her friend, telling her Mum and Dad to come quick revealed just how incredible she is when Sophia came whizzing up the road on a bike surprising them all. Now Sophia is showing us all just how incredible she is by taking on this amazing challenge to help others. It will be tough for Sophia, but she is strong minded in achieving her goal.
