Stepping Stones DS helps families navigate the journey from birth to adulthood, helping young people with Down syndrome (birth to 24 years) to fulfil their potential. We support children and young people with Down Syndrome and their families in North Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey.

Story

21st March is World Down Syndrome Day, and this year our theme is “Never Alone – a family of families.”

The date 3/21 symbolises Trisomy 21, the genetic variation that causes Down syndrome, where there are three copies of chromosome 21 instead of two.

To mark this special day, we’re bringing people together through Team 21, a community fundraiser where everyone takes on a Challenge 21 to support Stepping Stones DS.

Your challenge could be anything linked to the number 21:

• Bake 21 cakes

• Walk for 21 minutes or 21 miles

• Complete 21 laps of a playground

• Take on 21 games in your favourite sport

• Or create your own unique challenge

By joining Team 21, you can create your own sub fundraising page, set your challenge and invite others to sponsor you.

This fundraiser is about more than money, it’s about connection, inclusion and reminding every family that they are #NeverAlone.

Thank you for supporting Stepping Stones DS and for being part of our family of families 💛
