Story
We are challenging you, your friends and family to keep ACTIVE in APRIL by walking, jogging, running, skating, cycling or swimming throughout the month the miles of your choice. The challenge is set for all ages and abilities, wheelchair users are welcome to join in too
Sturge Weber UK has successfully completed 30 years as a registered a charity in the UK in January 2024. We are challenging 100 people to commit to raise at least £30 on our behalf during the month of April.
Why 100 people?
The more people who complete this challenge the more awareness of the rare neurological condition which is Sturge Weber Syndrome. This syndrome affects approximately 1 in every 20,000-50,000 individuals. Sturge Weber UK relies on public donations, to enable us to assist the well being of those individuals, their families, friends, helpers and carers by providing information and support.
Kind donations made to Sturge Weber UK have a direct beneficial impact on children and adults affected by Sturge Weber Syndrome and allow us to run our Make a Difference Grant Scheme which is the main purpose of this campaign. Our Make a Difference Grant Scheme allows our members to apply for grants to support them with:
Paying for classes and activities to support wellbeing,
Buying White Goods, Sensory and outdoor toys
and help in independent living for over 21s
Our other aims for this challenge is to ;
Raise awareness of Sturge Weber Syndrome within our local communities.
Support with making new connections through engaging with the challenge.
