Story

Feel the heat under your feet.

Join us for an evening full of excitement - conquer your fears and discover your inner strength! Every step will help raise funds for Suffolk Sight’s emotional support service.

The firewalk is a barefoot walk over red-hot coals. It’s the ultimate test of courage.

Completing a firewalk is a life-affirming experience. You'll learn to conquer fear, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs. The symbolic act represents the ability to overcome any obstacle and achieve anything you set your mind to – if you can walk on fire, you can find the courage to do anything!

“Having experienced sight loss myself, I am very aware of how much we need to support others. I am involved in lots of things for Suffolk Sight, but the emotional support service is my main passion, so I am reaching out to the local community to invite anyone who would like to join our charity firewalk event and help raise funds for the service that does so much to help people who are struggling to cope with the effect that sight loss has on their lives. The aim of the firewalk is to support people to gain confidence and show that there should be no barriers when it comes to new experiences – just like the work of Suffolk Sight.”

Trisha, Suffolk Sight Ambassador and Looking Ahead Co-ordinator

You must be at least 18 years old to take part in the firewalk. Entry is £25 per person and we ask that firewalkers pledge to raise at least £50 in sponsorship for Suffolk Sight.

Spaces for this experience are limited so we recommend that you register early on our website to avoid disappointment. If you have sight loss or a visual impairment and want to take part - you can! (the instructors have experience of taking people with sight loss through this type of event).

You will be taken through a training seminar by qualified instructors, preparing you to face the flames. The experts running our event have guided thousands of people through firewalks, so you can be assured that you are in safe hands.
