We are currently raising funds to support groups responding to the crisis in Al Fashir.

After two years of war, Sudan is the world’s largest hunger and displacement crisis. Large swaths of the country remain inaccessible to international organizations. Amidst this, grassroots civilian groups rooted in the Sudanese spirit of nafeer - collective action - are on the ground providing aid.

Sunduq Al Sudan is designed to support and amplify the lifesaving work done by mutual aid networks across the country. Modeled after alsunduq (box), the community savings groups popular in Sudan, Sunduq al Sudan collects and distributes funding to community-led initiatives.

PAST CAMPAIGNS:

September 2025 - Provided $10,000 to the Sortoni Youth Group to support the ongoing construction of a water catchment project in Sortoni Camp (North Darfur).

September 2025 - Provided $10,000 to Malam Darfur Peace Development (MDPD) for food distributions reaching displaced communities in Tawila.

June 2025 - Provided $10,000 to the Children's Safe Spaces to support a monthlong back to school festival for children in Khartoum. Planned activities include a football league, women’s week, girl’s week, psychosocial support sessions, and art workshops.

February 2025 - Provided $10,000 to Sudan Community Development for Progress Organization to support food distributions to IDPs by local groups in Al-Fula (West Kordofan), Muhajiriya (East Darfur), and Gireada (South Darfur).

February 2025 - Provided $10,000 to Hope and Haven Refugee Association to fund one month of the daily meals program for Sudanese refugee children in Adré Chad Almalik camp.

January 2025 - Provided $10,000 to Sudan Community Development for Progress Organization which funded 790 food baskets distributed by three community groups in West Kordofan.

July - December 2024 - Provided $35,000 to Malam Darfur Peace Development (MDPD) for three food distributions reaching displaced communities in Tawila.

June 2024 - Provided $10,000 to El Fashir Emergency Response Rooms enabling the delivery of clean water, food and healthcare.
