Story

Help Lancashire TAAG Build a Climbing Wall – A Big Step Up for Our Community!

Lancashire TAAG is growing – and we couldn’t be more excited! Thanks to the incredible support of our community and a generous grant, we’re now expanding to a second venue, with funding already secured for trampolines and safety matting.

But we’re not stopping there.

Our next BIG step?

🧱 A dedicated indoor climbing wall – designed to support, inspire, and challenge our amazing young people.

🎯 Our Fundraising Goal: £96,000

We’re aiming to raise £96,000 to fund the complete installation of a high-quality, fully inclusive climbing wall – and we need your help to get there.

Why a Climbing Wall?

Climbing offers more than just fun – it builds confidence, improves coordination, encourages focus, and teaches resilience. For our members, many of whom are neurodivergent or have additional needs, it’s a powerful, inclusive activity that supports both physical and emotional wellbeing in a safe, structured environment.

For some of our children and young adults, climbing provides:

✅ A unique outlet for energy and movement

✅ A boost in self-esteem as they achieve personal goals

✅ A calm, sensory-friendly space to develop trust, independence, and social skills

✅ An activity where they can succeed on their own terms – no pressure, just encouragement

A Wall for the Whole Community

This won’t just be a wall for TAAG – it will be a wall for everyone.

When not in use by our groups, the climbing wall will be available to other local organisations such as:

• Scouts and Guides

• Youth groups and cadets

• Home education networks

• SEN schools and colleges

• Carer support organisations

• Local charities supporting young people and disabilities

• Sports clubs and inclusive fitness groups

• And families looking for affordable, inclusive fun

This project will create an accessible, community-based activity that’s welcoming, safe, and inclusive for all.

How You Can Help

To make this dream a reality, we need to raise £96,000. Your donation will help fund:

• Installation of the climbing wall and equipment

• Safety harnesses, helmets, and accessible gear

• Training for volunteers and staff

• Ongoing maintenance to keep it safe and sustainable

• Subsidised sessions to ensure access for all families

Every pound makes a difference. Please consider making a donation – and if you can’t donate right now, sharing this page is just as valuable!

Let’s reach new heights – together.
