Story
Like many charities, the Coronavirus pandemic has caused the cancellation of major events and AHOY fell into this category mid-June where a decision was made to cancel their rowing challenges for 2020, resulting in an expected loss of income of £400,000.
Tableau, Salesforce and our Partners will be working as teams to complete a minimum of 34 miles from the 1st December to the 8th December 2020 in support of the AHOY centre.
We are setting a target to raise £3600 through our challenge 34 - this will support the cost of 2 full days for their Sailability programme.
Sailability welcomes disabled participants to experience the joys of rowing and sailing on the river Thames, whilst the charities inclusive environment and innovative land based activities encourage participants to develop soft and transferable skills which increase confidence, communication and teamwork - helping them to live a more independent life.
AHOY have worked tirelessly to ensure they can remain open during the pandemic to provide a safe covid friendly environment and at a time where activities for vulnerable adults remain inaccessible within their community, the demand for their services are needed now more than ever.
With our support and your kind donation, we can help AHOY continue to provide these activities for the remainder of 2020 and be sure they remain a key facilitator for activities within their community for 2021.
