Your entry fee only covers the cost of running the event, so please consider fundraising. By doing so, you will be transforming the lives of physically disabled children and newly injured adults, like Daisy and Steven.

Daisy

Daisy from Buckinghamshire, is no stranger to the WheelPower National Junior Games with the 2025 marking her third visit to one of our flagship events.

For Daisy, the best part of the games is spending time with friends, seeing all the different activities available and trying new sports. Last year, Daisy gave shooting a go for the first time and really enjoyed it, she particularly liked using the visual impairment set up the coaches had available to the participants.

Inspired by her time at the Games, Daisy has started getting more involved in sport at school and in her spare time, including taking part in Boccia and Cricket. One of her favourite sports is Wheelchair Rugby!

Steven

On a late-night walk with his two dogs, Steve took a tumble and sustained a C4 incomplete spinal cord injury which resulted in him being admitted to the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit in Glasgow, where he undertook his rehabilitation.

Whilst at the Inter Spinal Unit Games, Steve had access to 20 different wheelchair sports delivered by fully qualified coaches and although a team sport fanatic, Steve really liked the shooting, loved a game of Boccia and absolutely loved the Wheelchair Rugby although Steve did say that his family and friends wouldn’t believe that those words came out of his mouth.

In competition Steve excelled at Table Tennis, winning the Mixed Tetra Table Tennis competition, he also finished second in the Tetra Shooting competition. Here is what Steve had to say about his experience at the Inter Spinal Unit Games:

It’s been absolutely fantastic; I’ll probably reflect on this and it’ll be life changing for me. It’s already going to inspire me to get more active in sport rather than being just a spectator. My daughters are active gym users, and they’ve been nutting my head to go to the gym for quite some time and this has given me the drive to go and do that, but I am also wanting to get involved in other sports that are accessible for myself, so I am really looking forward to that.

Daisy and Steven's stories are just two examples of the transformative effect that WheelPower's work has on those with a physical disability and by taking part in the Tour de Vale and fundraising, you too can help transform the lives of disabled people through movement, activity and sport.
