Dartmoor Search and Rescue Ashburton Team are all volunteers on call 24/7 365 days a year dedicated to assisting the emergency services with the search and rescue of the lost, missing, injured and vulnerable. This includes children and adults, those with dementia or mental health illnesses.

Without volunteer search and rescue teams like us, the emergency services would not have the resources to devote to the search and rescue of missing or injured loved ones.

And without fundraising- we could not do what we do!

The Templer Way Challenge is our biggest annual fundraiser, and 2026 will be the 19th event

This walk is 18 miles between Haytor on Dartmoor and Teignmouth on the south coast; the Way traces the route by which granite was exported from Dartmoor via the unique Haytor Granite Tramway and the Stover Canal.
