At The Tom Henson Charity, we raise money to help provide and maintain public access defibrillators. The charity formed after we lost our very fit and healthy 23 year old son to a sudden cardiac arrest whilst he was playing football.
There are approximately 60,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests in the UK each year and fewer than one in ten people survive. During a sudden cardiac arrest, every minute that passes without the patient receiving advanced medical intervention reduces the patients chances of survival by 10%. This is why we believe there can never be too many defibrillators.
