Visit the charity's profileThe Alzheimer Society of Ireland is the leading dementia specific service provider in Ireland.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers.
Our vision is an Ireland where people on the journey of dementia are valued and supported.
A national non-profit organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland advocates, empowers and champions the rights of people living with dementia and their communities to quality support and services.
For practical information and emotional support or information on our supports and services contact The Alzheimer Society of Ireland National Helpline which is open six days a week Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm on 1800 341 341 or email helpline@alzheimer.ie. Our National Helpline has now expanded with a new free call-back service which offers people with dementia and family carers from anywhere in Ireland the opportunity to book a 1:1 session with a Dementia Nurse or a Dementia Adviser during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Simply call 1800 341 341 to avail of this service.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is still supporting people with dementia and their families as our Home Care; Dementia Advisers; National Helpline, and Online Family Carer Training are all still running, our administration staff are operating from their homes across the country and in addition we are looking at new ways of providing ASI support to our clients and their families.
The restrictions in place to ensure public health throughout Covid-19 has severely impacted our ability to hold many of our traditional fundraising events. Many of our planned events for the remainder of 2020 have been postponed or cancelled. This has had a significant impact on us and we welcome all fundraising support at this time. We have a range of ideas for virtual fundraising events available on alzheimer.ie
