For years, the Happy Tails shelter in Nafpaktos, Greece, has relied on community volunteers to care for over 100 rescued dogs—many of them large breeds that are often overlooked and have nowhere else to go. We have supported the shelter for many years and so many of our adopters have Happy Tails dogs in their lives.
Now, we have a unique opportunity to step in and provide critical improvements: stronger fencing, safer kennels, and better facilities to give these dogs the environment they deserve for the long term.
We’re heading to Nafpaktos from 4th–13th April to begin essential upgrades and create lasting change.
If you’re good at fixing things or just eager to help, we’d love for you to register your interest. We’re especially looking for volunteers with carpentry, construction, or general building skills to help rebuild and restore the shelter’s infrastructure.
Spaces are limited, so we may not be able to take everyone on this trip. However, this is an ongoing project, and we plan to organise further visits after April. If you can’t join this time, there will be future opportunities to get involved.
Volunteers must cover their own flights. The charity provides accommodation and in-country transport. Each volunteer commits to raising £500 in sponsorship by May 2025.
