Story

THE JENNY PROJECT

Wigan Warriors Community Foundation, Behind-a -Smile, and Stable Lives are working together to organise their inaugural event to raise funds to support local families who have been affected by suicide.

We are hosting a benefit dinner in February 2019 and we hope to raise enough money to support local families who have lost a loved one to suicide.

Helping to organise the event is Anjuli Tautai, wife of Taulima Tautai. Anjuli lost her Mum to suicide when she was just a young girl,

17 years ago my mum took her life. She was young, smart, kind, beautiful and a hopeless romantic, but she was suffering silently inside. If through my experience I can help another person who has lost their parent, partner, sibling or friend to understand or heal then I feel that there is a rainbow from the horrific storm and that the memory of Jenny, my mum, may continue to live on.

We are grateful for any donation no matter matter how small as the more money we can raise the more families within our community we can help.

For the past few years Wigan has consistently had a suicide rate above the national average. If you or anyone you know is suffering please call Samaritans on 116 123.
