Story

On Sunday 17th September, supporters around the world will be running, jogging or walking 5K to raise vital funds in support of International Animal Rescue's projects which will help restore the rainforest and protect the precious wildlife within it.

WHY IS THE RAINFOREST RUN IMPORTANT?

The Rainforest Run is the perfect opportunity for you to join the global movement to save “the lungs of the planet” before it is too late.

Climate change and biodiversity loss are having a catastrophic effect on our world and rainforests are a vital weapon in the fight against global temperature rises.

WHAT INTERNATIONAL ANIMAL RESCUE IS DOING

At International Animal Rescue, we work tirelessly to protect wildlife and their precious habitats! Our vision is a world where humans and animals coexist in sustainable ecosystems.

Our rescue centres around the world have helped over 100 species and in Costa Rica, we are rescuing at least one animal every single day! Our aim is to return animals to their natural environment wherever possible, but we also provide a permanent home for those that can no longer fend for themselves.

In addition to rescue, rehabilitation and release, we run a number of rainforest restoration and protection programmes. Through forest patrols, reforestation, training, research, education and the development of alternative livelihoods, the forests that we all depend on are being kept safe and thriving.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP

By taking part in The Rainforest Run on Sunday 17th September you can play your part in the urgent fight to save our planet.

The funds you raise will help to plant trees, protect rainforests, empower woman, save species, inspire the next generation of eco-warriors, and build a better future for us all.

About the charity

We not only save animals from suffering, we also rehabilitate and release them back into the wild, whilst working to protect their habitats. We provide a safe haven for animals that can no longer fend for themselves. In all that we do, we work to find solutions that benefit both animals and people.
