Caring For Life is a Christian charity seeking to "Share the Love of Jesus" with at-risk and hurting people, including those who are homeless. Through providing long-term support, homes and friendship, we gradually help people to move on from past heartache and hardship towards a happier future.

Story

The Need:

Caring For Life’s priority is to help people find faith and a home in Christ, and this will continue to be our first call. We then, as you know, seek to help people find a home in us as a family, and also, where we can, have sought to provide homes with bricks and mortar.

Over the past 38 years, we’ve been blessed to have several homes, starting with Carey House, which later became Tindall House and also Wendy Margaret Home. Last year, we were able to purchase two small flats as we sought to meet the housing needs of those in our community.

We have for some time been challenged when we consider residents at our men's home. Our concerns were that the property would not be able to meet the needs of those residents as their physical and mental health needs grow greater with ageing.

After much prayer, discussion, and planning, and inspired by the purchase of two flats last year, the Trustees and Executive determined that the purchase of more flats, ideally connected, should be purchased to re-house our Tindall gentlemen, providing more suitable living accommodation in the changing needs they face.

This provides individual living space, as well as specific support we will provide in each home. It also provides the opportunity for personal care to be brought into the home much more easily, when required, in later stages of life.

Our desire is to purchase flats in the same street, and potentially connected, helping keep the sense of community.

In God’s amazing timing, He provided a couple of supporters who have offered a pledge of £300,000 as a match fund to help us progress this dream into a reality.

The goal is to raise funds to purchase an additional 4 flats, to go alongside the 2 we already own, that will allow us to give each person their own space.

We want our own space, but we also want to be around people. (A quote from a gentleman at Tindall House)

The Challenge:

We are incredibly grateful for a generous £300,000 pledge, which has made it possible to launch this match-funding campaign, helping us take the first vital steps toward purchasing safe, supported homes (and furnishings) for those in our care.

Because every donation will be doubled up to £300,000, your gift goes twice as far:

Give £10, and it becomes £20. Give £100, and it becomes £200.

Twice the impact. Twice the hope.

Whether you’re able to give £1 or £10,000, your support is part of something life-changing.

Plus...

If you know someone who might be moved by our mission, please share this campaign with them.

Introducing a friend to Caring For Life could help us reach our target and bring lasting change to more lives.

Prayer:

We enter into this campaign with hearts full of faith, trusting in God, our faithful and generous provider. Time and again, we’ve seen Him move in unexpected ways, and we believe He will continue to make a way as we seek to provide homes to replace Tindall House.

Please pray that God will continue to provide in His perfect timing, and that as we prepare the gentlemen for this next chapter, they will be reassured by the plans for continued support, and they will be strengthened and filled with His peace.
