Oliver Parkinson is raising money for Caring For Life

Dartathon · 5 September 2025

Caring For Life aims to buy 4 flats to create safe, supported homes for men, replacing our current Residential Home. A supporter has offered an incredible £300k, which will be matched against any gift up to that amount, bringing us closer to our goal

Story

Me (Oliver Parkinson) and my brother (Alex Parkinson) are aiming to try and score 180,000 points in just 501 minutes. That’s 8 hours and 21 minutes of non-stop darts.

Our love for darts is evident with our own Bedroom League and watching every tournament that we can… but this time it’s us stepping up to the oche for a cause that hits close to home.

We want to raise money for Caring For Life, a Christian ministry that’s been part of our lives from birth. Their mission is to Share the Love of Jesus, by supporting vulnerable adults across Leeds with housing, care, and daytime activities that change lives.

So for 8+ hours, we’ll be chasing 180s, dodging the dreaded 1s and 5s, alongside a few others who want to get involved. Every point we score will help support a cause that’s genuinely changing and saving lives.

Why 180,000 points? Because 180 is the perfect score in darts. The magic number every player dreams of. Multiply that by 1,000 and you’ve got the ultimate target to aim for.

Why 501 minutes? 501 is the classic starting score in darts, every professional match begins there. So we thought we’d keep it proper and give ourselves exactly 501 minutes to hit our 180,000 point goal.

We’ll be live-streaming the event so you can tune in and watch along as we try hit our target. If you’re able to support us in fundraising by donating what you can, then your support would mean the world.

180,000 points. 501 minutes. Two Brothers. One mission.

Let’s hit the target for Caring For Life! 🎯
