Story

Helford River Children's Sailing Trust is a youth charity based in Cornwall which helps over 800 children and young people every year to access sailing and water sports. The Trust is passionate about using these activities as a tool to develop confidence, competence and resilience enabling participants to reach their full potential in life. One of its key beliefs is that there should be no financial barrier to any of its activities.

The Trust is developing Trevassack Lake on The Lizard into a brand new, fully accessible watersports centre for children and young people with a Learning Centre and 2 adapted holiday lodges which is due to open in Spring 2021. The Trust is fundraising for ongoing support while it develops the next phase of this ambitious project which will see a further 5 adapted holiday lodges being built for use by children in Cornwall and across the UK with special educational needs and disabilities as well as continuing to deliver schools' sailing lessons on the Helford River.

About the charity

The Children’s Sailing Trust is a charity founded on the Helford River in 1997 with an ambition to make sailing accessible to all. Sailing is a transformational activity that teaches young people skills essential for life and learning. Support us and help children fulfil their potential.
