Event: Lap the Lake Sponsored Swim Challenge, on 5 October 2019
Sureswim Kernow swimmers are holding a sponsored swim to help raise funds for HRCST: a charity teaches over 800 children and young people a year to build self-confidence and life skills by learning sailing and watersports.

Story

As you can tell from my profile picture, I've been training hard for this, and will likely be able to swim for at least 15 minutes non-stop without a pasty.

Here is some info from the organisers if you don't like my infos, or if you think that this is all a bit fishy and that I've expertly photoshopped my head onto the body of the second fastest swimmer in the world, Michael Phelps:

Helford River Children's Sailing Trust is a youth charity based in Cornwall which helps over 800 children and young people every year to access sailing and water sports. We are passionate about using these activities as a tool to develop confidence, competence and resilience enabling participants to reach their full potential in life. One of our key beliefs is that there should be no financial barrier to any of our activities.Trevassack Lake on The Lizard is the site of a brand new, fully accessible watersports centre for children and young people due to open in Spring 2021. The Trust is fundraising for the next phase of this ambitious project which will see 7 specially adapted holiday lodges being built for use by children in Cornwall and across the UK with special educational needs and disabilities.
