This winter, the Opinium team are coming together for an epic team challenge! Getting out to run up the miles as a team and take a stand to support the survivors of modern slavery.
The plan: To collectively run, ride and walk 1,000km, the distance of Lands End to John OGroats between 20th November - 4th Dec.
Our goal: To raise £5,000 to support TRIBE Freedom Foundation and help cover the running costs of one of the TRIBE Freedom Foundation-funded survivor safehouses for a month.
Why?
Today, 187 years since Britain passed the Abolition of Slavery Act, more than 40 million people are living in modern slavery worldwide and an estimated 136,000 people are exploited within the UK at any one time .
TRIBE Freedom Foundation is on a mission to fight modern slavery and end human trafficking. They work by raising awareness of trafficking, supporting survivors and enabling frontline projects to prevent modern slavery. They empower communities to create an impact.
The current pandemic has also put more adults and children who are already in, or vulnerable to modern slavery, at even higher risk of exploitation. So, right now, your support could not be more important.
Together, we go further and faster to end modern slavery.
Let's do this!
