TSC UK Charity Walk 2025
Organised by Tamil Special Children UKTamil Special Children UK (TSC UK) is having its annual charity walk on Saturday, the 12th of July 2025, at Valentines Park, Cranbrook Road, Ilford IG2 6EA from 2 pm to 6 pm.
Story
Tamil Special Children (TSC) UK started as a WhatsApp support group in October 2017 for UK-based Tamil-speaking parents who have children with learning difficulties and disabilities (including Autism, Down’s syndrome & Global Developmental Delay). The group registered as a charity in August 2020 (Charity Number: 1191001).
Some of the activities that the charity organises includes:
Regular/one-off training sessions delivered by professionals to empower parents and families
Clubs (Yoga, Cooking, Art & Craft, Dance, etc.) for the families
Monthly parental workshops to share information, experience and techniques (by the parents for the parents)
Weekly slot on an online Tamil TV for the children to showcase talents and to develop confidence
Working with Tamil media and Tamil voluntary organisations to give opportunities to showcase the talents of the children and to remove social exclusion
One-to-one advisory support for parents struggling due to language barriers or personal circumstances
Organising many face-to-face events annually including the Charity Walk, Sports Meet and Fundraiser for the families
Despite all the activities and support, there is only one thought in the mind of each parent, every single day which is the future of the child and the concern of who will care for the child. Our charity's long-term target is to set up residential & supported living for our children, so their future is secure.
