Story
Who are we?
Big Leaf Foundation is a Surrey-based charity supporting over 280 displaced young people aged 15-25.
Separated children arrive alone, often in shock and without language or cultural understanding. They must navigate their new lives and the long and complex asylum system, and the experience can be overwhelming, confusing and incredibly difficult.
What's our goal?
We aim to provide a nurturing programme of activities, projects and events that focus on combating social isolation and improving the wellbeing of the young people we support. Our projects include sports, creative arts, casework support, education, leadership programmes and residentials.
Big Leaf Foundation is where I find home, where I find peace, where I find solutions to problems and where I find equality and love. They make me feel confident... and I am so grateful." M
What's this fundraiser all about?
Our vision is of a community where displaced young people are valued, supported and given the ability to create better outcomes for themselves. But we need your help..
Over the past year, demand for our services has grown exponentially as more and more young people need our support. We want to continue growing our projects and reaching more displaced young people.
What can you do?
By participating in the Twilight Runway Challenge- a fun, family-friendly event- you'll raise money to support our core weekly services, including our drop-in weekly Hubs, English language sessions and sports services.
You can run, walk, cycle, scoot or skateboard your way around the 3km, 5km or 10km route along the airstrip of Blackbushe Airport.
To sign up... register online on the Twilight Runway website, choose Big Leaf Foundation as the cause, set up an online fundraising page (we'll send you a template!), and share with your friends, family and colleagues
We look forward to seeing you there!
