"Al-Khair Foundation unequivocally condemns these horrific attacks. It is tragic when places of worship are brutally and indiscriminately targeted. Such atrocities reinforce our beliefs, that we must stand steadfast, against all forms of extremism. Rather than divide and polarise, such tragedies should unite us in our resolve and stance against extremism.
Now, more than ever, we must strive to build bridges between communities and reach out to one another. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those effected by the terrorist attacks at Al-Noor Mosque and Linwood Mosque in Christchurch New Zealand. It is incumbent on our policymakers to ensure that Islamophobia is taken seriously as a form of prejudice with serious consequences.
At Al-Khair Foundation, we share a close affinity with the victims - one of the first Muslim families to migrate to the Christchurch was distantly related to Imam Qasim, the Founder and Exec. Chairman of Al-Khair Foundation. At 11am today, Al-Khair Foundation, IQRA TV, and Al-Khair School held a one minute silence, and a prayer was led by Imam Qasim for the victims of the Christchurch attack, and their families."
