Story
Polio has been reduced by more than 99% worldwide — but until it is eradicated everywhere, it remains a threat anywhere. Rotary has led the global fight to end polio for decades, and now we are closer than ever.
Polio is a preventable disease, yet it continues to threaten lives where clean water and sanitation are limited. Together, we can help finish the job and give children a healthier, polio-free future.
One of the biggest barriers to ending polio is the lack of clean water. Unsafe water allows viruses to spread, undermining vaccination efforts and putting children at risk. That’s why this walk is about more than just miles — it’s about impact.
By walking together with Watford Rotary Club, we are raising funds to support clean water filtration plants in rural Pakistan, improved sanitation, and Rotary’s End Polio Now campaign.
This one-day guided trek through the beautiful Chiltern Hills is designed to be accessible and rewarding. You don’t need to be a seasoned walker — just willing to take on a meaningful challenge to help protect children’s lives.
Every donation, big or small, helps stop the spread of preventable disease, strengthens polio eradication efforts, and brings us closer to a world where no child suffers from polio.
