A Place Called Home

Living on the streets is dangerous, lonely, and traumatic — especially for young people. In Sierra Leone, £70 can provide a safe home for a whole year. That one gift can mean safety instead of fear, hope instead of uncertainty.

"Building hope through music" We create fundraising initiatives for the electronic music industry & beyond to support grassroots projects that make a difference to the lives of children and young people both globally and in the UK.

Story

Following LNADJ’s recent visit to Sierra Leone, Jonny (Founder), Steve Mac (Producer) and Jono Heale (Musician & Trustee) spent time with young people connected to the creative programmes at Wayout Arts. Many were engaging with music, film and art, yet still facing the reality of life on the streets every day.

The experience stayed with us long after we returned home.

Last Christmas, our community came together around a simple idea: instead of buying another gift, £70 could provide a homeless young person in Sierra Leone with a place to call home for an entire year. Together, we funded 43 homes.

Today, we’re continuing that journey.

Every night in Sierra Leone, young people sleep on the streets exposed to violence, hunger, illness and fear. For many, the street is not a choice, but the only option left to them.

A safe home changes everything.

When a young person moves from the street into a home, they gain far more than a roof over their head. They gain safety, stability and hope. They can sleep without fear, eat regular meals, access education and training through Wayout Arts, and begin to heal from trauma. Most importantly, they are given the chance to believe in a future again.

In Sierra Leone, just £70 can provide a safe home for an entire year.

Your donation helps provide:

• Safe accommodation for a year

• A mattress and essentials

• A pathway away from street life

• Access to education and creative opportunities through Wayout Arts

£70 doesn’t just change a year.

It can change a life.

The team on the ground call it “My First Keys” the moment a young person receives the keys to a place they can finally call home.

Thank you to everyone who supported Where Love Lives. The impact is already being felt every day by the young people who now have somewhere safe to call home.

If you'd like to help us fund more homes for the year ahead, please donate what you can and share this campaign with your family and friends.

This is Where Love Lives.

Big Love,
