Story
At this year's WPA Dinner, we're raising funds for LandAid, the property industry charity with a mission to end youth homelessness.
It is unknown how many young people experience homelessness each year in the UK, but nearly 136,000 young people approached their local council for help as a result of homelessness in 2022/23. There are likely thousands more hidden homeless, choosing to sofa-surf, sleep on public transport or present to charities, rather than presenting to their local authorities.
It doesn't have to be this way.
Life events mean that homelessness will always be a risk, but when it occurs there must be a positive pathway for young people experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness to find a stable place to call home. Thats why LandAid's grants strategy is composed of three programmes, allocating funds to three different kinds of project, each providing a different service for young people with different needs: emergency accommodation, supported accommodation, and move-on accomodation.
With your support, we can make a difference to the lives of young people across the country.
