The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileStarting on the 29th August, we want to raise as much as we can in just 30 days. Why? Because thousands of people still die of rabies every day, the majority of which are children. We are changing this, but we cant do it alone!
We are asking you donate or fundraise as much as you can over 30 days. Not sure where to start? Here are our fundraising suggestions!
- £59: an estimated 59,000 people die of rabies every year, despite it being vaccine preventable. This is less than £2 a day!
- £100: 100 children die every day. By educating children on how to stay safe around dogs we are making this a thing of the past. At around £3 a day this is an easy target to aim for!
- £250: The average cost of a dog vaccination is £2.50 per dog. Nearly all human rabies cases are caused by infected dog bites. By running mass canine vaccination drives we are stopping rabies at its source. By raising just over £8 a day you will help us to vaccinate 100 dogs again rabies.
Want to pick a different amount? No worries, as long as you fundraise a minimum of £30 then feel free to pick your own target! If youre donating then please give as much or as little as you can! Every penny counts in the war against rabies!
Mission Rabies have one aim: eliminate rabies by 2030.
Following WHO guidelines, we run mass canine vaccination programmes in the worlds rabies hot spots, tackling the disease at the source. As 99% of all rabies cases come from dogs, this method is the most effective and economical way of preventing and eliminating rabies. We also run lifesaving education programmes to teach communities how to stay safe from rabies, and conduct scientific research to find out more about the disease and how to stop it. So far we have vaccinated over 1 million dogs and educated 2 million children about rabies risk control across our projects.
What we are doing is working, but we can't do it alone! Please support Mission Rabies this World Rabies Day, and change the lives of those who need it most. If you need any help along the way then contact us: fundraising@missionrabies.com.
