Story
Ykids has been running weekly groups in Bootle to inspire and support children, young people and their families for many years, but Covid 19 brought a new twist - online Zoom sessions! Over the past year we have poured a great deal of resources into developing our digital content and skills, we are still learning but improving and finding we are reaching a wider audience.
Despite everything Covid 19 has thrown at us, this year Ykids has been able to develop exciting projects such as Giant Slayers, a programme to enable children to manage their mental wellbeing; the building of a Time machine for Kingsley and Co; a cartoon story competition; a new activity website (ykidsonline.co.uk) and the launch of Ykids community Pantry.
One of our greatest successes this year has been the delivery of 1000s of activity packs full of crafts, games, reading books, toys, toiletries, mental health resources, challenges and much more. The feedback has been amazing as parents and children tell us what a difference they made.
Everything we do is free thanks to our wonderful funders and supporters - if you too would like to support us financially then you are in the right place!
We are also always looking for donations of second hand books for Kingsley & Co, our amazing children's bookshop/coffee shop/literacy project (www.kingsleyandco.org), and of course for volunteers to work with our children, young people and families. If that's you then please get in touch!
