A great run, a great challenge, a great cause!

The Great West Run is back and better than ever!

Whether youre a keen runner or just starting out, you can make a difference for YMCA Exeter.

The Great West Run half marathon has it all; a city centre road race, combined with green lanes and stunning views across Exeter, with a stunning stadium finish. The brand new 10km route will follow the first and final 3 miles of the half marathon.

The Community Mile takes place alongside the famous Great West Run Half Marathon and brand new 10km. The-mile-long fun run is designed to encourage first time runners, families, friends, colleagues and teams to come together and challenge themselves.

This year, money raised will be going towards our fantastic new project, Sidwell Studios. We know that Exeter has a housing crisis; were tackling this by turning an abandoned warehouse near the city centre into 26 self-contained studio apartments which are affordable, permanent home.

Sidwell Studios is being specifically built to create a fantastic community feel within the wider community next to St Sidwells Community Centre, providing the perfect partnership to offer all the new residents access to vocational skills workshops. Theres even a community allotment tucked away between the buildings that residents can get stuck into.

Whether you choose the half marathon, the 10k or the community mile, all the money you raise will go towards building affordable, permanent homes for young people.
