Bangladesh is one of the poorest, most densely populated and least developed nations in the world. The population in Bangladesh is predominantly rural, with almost 80 percent of the population living in rural areas. Many people live in remote areas that lack services such as education, health clinics, and adequate roads. Sylhet Aid is run entirely by people who are passionate about helping the poor. We rely on the generosity of the UK public to help us carry out our aid work.
Our Goals
1) To provide affordable homes to some of the poorest people using economically viable and sustainable housing solutions.
2) To assist with emergency housing repair.
3) To construct an Innovation Centre that provides training opportunities for poor people who are determined to work themselves out of poverty. We will provide vocational training, educational courses and teach valuable life skills which can be used as a foundation for further development.
4) To provide free health and medical assistance to the poor in getting help when they are sick and suffering from illness.
