Story
Musa has asked us to share his story:
People with the genetic condition of albinism, lack the protective skin pigment melanin which makes them highly vulnerable to skin cancer. The priority of Advantage Africa's albinism project in Uganda is to prevent needless deaths from skin cancer by promoting sun avoidance and protection. However, we also come across many people with albinism with advanced skin cancer like like 30-year-old Musa (pictured left).
Unfortunately, we can only help him, and others like him, with specific donations for their treatment. There's no free cancer care in Uganda and the country currently has no working radiotherapy machine. Musa has therefore been referred to a clinic in Nairobi, Kenya. With an initial £1,000 donation from a kind family, he's begun radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
We're crowd funding to raise £4,500 for the treatment needed to save Musa's life. Please give what you can to help Musa and his family have a future to look forward to. Thank you.
