Story
We have a team of 34 strong, picking up their paddles for our annual Thames Kayak Challenge! For a third year running, we are getting back on the water to support our amazing volunteers and the incredible work they are currently doing in Nepal and Peru.
Nepal was hit by 2 devastating earthquakes in 2015 and our volunteers continue to get children back into education by working tirelessly to rebuild schools in the regions of Sindhupalchok and Nuwakot.
In the early months of 2017, Peru suffered severe rains that caused landslides, mudflows and floods. Our team have recently launched our Peru Flood Response to help clear debris and start rebuilding areas to allow children to go back to school.
Our team launching in Wallingford on Saturday 2nd and will be crossing the finish line in Windsor on Sunday 3rd September.
It really is quite the challenge, 50 miles in under 30 hours (including 16 locks) which is not an easy challenge, it’s a huge distance to travel in 2 days – so they deserve all the support they can get so please support our challengers and our teams out in Nepal and Peru by donating however much you can. These communities may out of the media, but they are still in need of help.
Thank you for your support!
