Story
It’s kitten season! And often cat mums and their kittens arrive with us, unwanted and unwell.
When gentle black and white cat Darcy was handed over to us she was suffering from cat flu, which is highly contagious and can be fatal to vulnerable cats and kittens. Darcy is getting special care in isolation at Bath Cats & Dogs Home, where she is mothering her 5 week old kittens – Dana, Dash, Deci and Doodle.
These adorable kittens came here in a poor state, their eyes so infected that they were glued shut. But with daily eye drops and constant care, they are getting stronger and starting to eat solid food. Darcy is being a really good mum.
Whilst in isolation, the kittens still need careful regular handling and socialisation to thrive. They need to be nurtured back to health as they grow, before we can consider finding them forever homes. We’ve cared for 94 kittens in the last few months and the kitten season isn’t over yet!
Donate right now to give Darcy and her kittens the special care they need to make a full recovery.
