Story
Darren & Helen Reevell are running Hull Marathon on the 23rd September 2018 to raise much needed funds for Castaway.
Castaway is a Goole based charity that provides opportunities for adults and young people with learning and physical disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or mental health challenges to access high quality performing arts activities, led by professional artists experienced in working with people with complicated life challenges. Each year they put on productions at their local theatre and throughout the East Riding of Yorkshire and Humber regions, giving opportunities for individuals to shine and be the best they can be.
Our daughter has attended Castaway for the last year and despite having a significant learning disability combined with mental health challenges, has thoroughly enjoyed her time at Castaway, making some lifelong friends along the way, and playing the lead role of Dorothy in their recent production of “The Wizard of Oz”. The whole group are very supportive of each other and we’ve seen our daughter really grow over the last year.
Castaway are a small charity so as such, you can rest assured that every pound or penny donated makes a huge positive impact to the group and helps to improve the life opportunities for some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
Please donate anything you can spare, a pound or a penny, it all adds up and makes a huge difference to Castaway and its members.
