Story
There are many welfare issues facing Sri Lanka cats, cat welfare and overpopulation is often a more hidden problem than with dogs but they suffer just as much and unwanted kittens just like this tiny kitten are often strayed on the road at just weeks old or dumped near hotels / guesthouses.
A female cat can have three litters in a year with an average litter of 4-6 kittens. It is easy to see how quickly the dog and cat populations can spiral out of control. With too many animals and not enough good owners or guardians, resources, food or shelter suffering is inevitable. The solution is simple, surgical sterilisation prevents these unwanted kittens being born to suffer.
Every month we sterilise around 50 cats on our purpose built mobile spay neuter truck, a donation of just £15.00 will sterilise one cat.
Every month we need support from cat lovers globally to help maintain and expand our cat spay neuter services.
